Results Screen Guide

Changelog v1.2.1 (August 26, 2026) added a dedicated results screen at the end of Hotel Tales. Before that patch, many players finished a route, blinked through credits, and only noticed missing Gallery cards or a wrong ending days later. The new screen sits with the Unlock Entire Gallery prompt and the romance-hint window so you can read the run you just finished before you overwrite the slot. This guide explains what the results flow is for, how it ties to Endings and Unlock Gallery, and which habits make the next replay cleaner.

Install v1.2.1 from Steam before you chase finales. Earlier builds still end the story, but they lack the clearer post-credits summary TopHouse shipped in late August.

What the results screen is for

Think of it as a shift report, not a leaderboard:

  • Confirms you reached a finale family (romance, career, lore, or chaos) without forcing a spoiler slideshow of every flag
  • Sits next to the Unlock Entire Gallery affordance so scrapbook holes can close in the same sitting
  • Pairs with the romance hint window for Pino, Pasithea, Laveau, and Nikki if you bounced off date starts mid-run
  • Encourages a pause before Continue eats the autosave you wanted to branch

Exact UI labels can vary by language pack. Use the screen as a decision checkpoint: keep the file, duplicate it, or start a New Game with a different evening plan.

Hotel Stories VOv1.0.7Re-listen lore cards after unlock

If the results screen shows a finale you did not intend, do not immediately start a New Game on the same slot. Copy the file via Save File Location, then reload an earlier evening save. Choice integrity depends on Patch 1.0.3 — a “wrong ending” on a pre-1.0.3 client was often a broken flag, not bad taste.

Practical end-of-run checklist

  1. Let credits finish so the results UI can appear.
  2. Screenshot or note which route tone the screen implies (caring, authoritative, indifferent).
  3. Accept Unlock Entire Gallery if cards are still dark — details on Unlock Gallery.
  4. Open Gallery and Hotel Stories once before quitting (Gallery & Hotel Stories).
  5. If you want another staff route, read the romance hint for Pino / Pasithea / Laveau / Nikki, then jump to How to Romance.
  6. Duplicate the save before New Game if you still need achievement flags from this tone (100% Completion).

Difficulty, bosses, and why the screen feels different after 1.2.1

v1.2.1 also shipped Easy / Normal / Hard for almost all mini-games, more responsive boss fights, basement search retunes, tutorial fixes, and resolution adaptations. A results screen on Hard after two boss peaks will feel “stricter” even when the story flags match an Easy run. Separate board difficulty from ending vectors — see Difficulty and Boss Fights. Timed dialogue and Key Phrase gates are still not flattened by the slider.

Common mistakes after credits

  • Quitting during credits and missing both results and Gallery unlock
  • Overwriting the only clear-file before checking achievements (Achievements)
  • Assuming Deluxe or Animations Pack changes the results math — they do not
  • Ignoring romance hints and repeating the same dead evening calendar
  • Blaming the results screen for Paulo / Owner conflicts that started mid-week (Mysteries & Paulo, Owner Rewards)

The results screen is a short, honest hotel report. Read it, unlock what is missing, then start the next shift with a named save instead of a blank hope.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

When was the Hotel Tales results screen added?

Changelog v1.2.1 on August 26, 2026 added the end-of-game results screen along with Easy/Normal/Hard and romance hints.

Does the results screen unlock the Gallery by itself?

No. Use the separate Unlock Entire Gallery window (from Patch 1.1.4, still present in 1.2.1). The results screen is the summary checkpoint.

What should I do before New Game after results?

Duplicate the clear-file, accept Gallery unlock if needed, note romance hints, then start a new slot for a different route.

Can difficulty change my results ending?

Board difficulty mainly changes mini-game pressure. Ending families still follow route, Key Phrase, night, and job flags.

I never see a results screen — why?

Update to Patch 1.2.1, let credits finish, and avoid force-closing during the end sequence. Older builds end without that UI.
