Steam Cards & Badges

On August 25, 2026, TopHouse posted Your shift is over, little bunny — time for your reward! on Steam News for Hotel Tales (app 3413800). The hotel now has Community Items: Steam Trading Cards, profile backgrounds, emoticons, and badges. That is a Steam-profile reward, not a story patch. It does not add a guest, a finale, or a second achievement list. Read this page if you searched Hotel Tales trading cards, Hotel Tales badge, or Hotel Tales Steam points and need to know what actually dropped.\n\nThe announcement thanks players who worked their shifts honestly — or at least tried — and asks you to collect souvenirs, decorate your profile, and come back for another week. Always prefer the live Steam News post if wording differs.\n\nThese cards are not the in-game Gallery stills or guest quest cards. Those live on Gallery & Hotel Stories and Cards & Outfits. Mixing the two systems is how people waste a night hunting a badge that was never a Key Phrase.\n\n## What shipped\n\n| Item | Where you see it | What it is not |\n|------|------------------|----------------|\n| Trading cards | Steam inventory after playtime drops | Not Gallery cards |\n| Badge | Steam profile after you craft a full set | Not a 53rd achievement |\n| Emoticons | Chat / profile after craft or Points Shop | Not in-game dialogue tokens |\n| Profile backgrounds | Steam profile customization | Not the Wallpapers Pack DLC |\n\nSteam can add foil variants, booster packs, and Points Shop listings after the first drop. We will not invent set size or card names here. Open your Steam inventory filtered to Hotel Tales, or the store’s community-items block, for the live list.\n\n## How drops usually work\n\nSteam’s default trading-card rules apply unless TopHouse posts something narrower:\n\n1. Play the retail game while Steam is online. Demo hours do not reliably feed a retail card set.\n2. Half a set typically drops from playtime. The rest comes from the Market, trades, or a booster pack.\n3. Craft the badge from a complete set. That is what levels the Hotel Tales showcase on your profile.\n4. Crafting can yield a random emoticon or background plus profile XP. Extra sets level the badge further.\n5. After you craft once, Steam may start dropping booster packs on a slow timer.\n\nNone of that touches romance flags, Paulo, or 52 Steam achievements. You can idle for cards on a finished slot. You should not hex a save to “unlock cards faster.”\n\n## What this is not\n\n- Not New Game Plus. Community items sit on the Steam account, not inside %appdata% JSON.\n- Not the Wallpapers Pack. Desktop wallpaper DLC is a paid store item. Profile backgrounds are Steam community cosmetics.\n- Not Deluxe. Deluxe Edition still does not buy you a secret eighth guest. Cards do not either.\n- Not a Germany / China / Saudi unlock. Restricted storefronts stay restricted. See Mature Content.\n\nIf you only wanted hotel stills, stay on Gallery. If you only wanted Steam XP, play a few honest evenings and check inventory.\n\n## Practical hunting notes\n\n- Confirm you own the retail app, not a family-share session that blocks drops.\n- Leave Steam Overlay available at least once so the client registers playtime. Overlay off during a timed date is still the right settings call — cards do not need the overlay open every night.\n- Adult store tags apply to some profile cosmetics. Do not slap an NSFW background on a work account and then blame the hotel.\n- Market prices move in the first week of a new set. Treat early listings as weather, same as Steam Reviews.\n\nReception on the All pile is now Very Positive at 80% (357 / 87, 444 reviews). Steam-purchaser filter stays Mostly Positive at 79% (394). Community items will not flip that score by themselves.\n\n## Related pages\n\n- Steam Reviews — live score context\n- Cards & Outfits — in-game guest cards, not Steam cards\n- Gallery & Hotel Stories — stills after credits\n- Achievements — 52 Steam unlocks\n- Official Links — store and news entry points\n\nCollect the souvenirs. Then go back on shift. The badge does not check guests in for you.
